A Fresno, California mom who was high on meth killed her two children, her cousin and shot her common law husband in the neck before turning the gun on herself.

Fresno police say that Aide Mendez, known by friends and family as Yvette, shot her children and her cousin before committing suicide. She also shot and stabbed her common law husband 33-year-old Eduardo Lopez. Lopez survived the attack.
According to authorities, Mendez shot Lopez in the neck, and then stabbed him several times. A motive hasn’t been released as to why Mendez went on her rampage, although police say she was high on meth during the shooting.
Neighbor Rosa Gutierrez said:
“They were very little and I have kids of my own, you know, so I dropped off a candle and two little bears for them.”
Rosa Gutierrez says Mendez appeared to be a dedicated and loving mother to her 18-month-old daughter, Aliyah, and three-year-old son, Isaiah.
Friends told Action News that Mendez was drinking hours prior to the murder-suicide, while many heard arguing coming from the apartment hours before they heard several shots.
