It’s not often that you find someone who is smart, beautiful and has a ton of ambition, but Jessica Dykstra may be the ultimate exception to the rule.
The lingerie and fashion model has all three and so far she’s been backing it up. Her modeling career is taking off and she would be any guy’s dream girl. But don’t get your hopes up, she may be holding out for Rihanna!
Like most people, Jessica Dykstra may not have all the pieces in the right place yet, but at the end of the puzzle that we all call life, she knows one thing: she wants to be a boss.

GlobalGrind: When you were 5 years old what did you think you wanted to be?
Jessica Dykstra: I always knew I’d be a model or an actress. There was no second-guessing.
What has been your biggest struggle?
This is one of those questions that you would probably expect a long, drawn out answer for, but honestly, my biggest struggle was getting out of the hood.
Where are you from?
Fort Myers. (Florida)
And were you successful?
Yeah I’m out of the hood now. I was actually able to move to New York and so far I am making it in the big city.
How’d you do that?
Modeling has allowed me to do so many things that I probably wouldn’t be able to do otherwise. Thankfully I have been able to see so many different places and yes — move out of the hood.
What was the biggest lesson that your childhood taught you?
You have to be fearless if you want to be successful.
What do you want to do after modeling?
I want to do a couple of major films. I love acting and would like to try my hand at it. I would also want to be an entrepreneur and eventually work for myself. I have a couple different things that I want to start… I have a drink that I want.
You’re on an island stuck there by yourself and you can take 3 albums, what are you taking with you besides Trick Daddy, because you’re from Miami.
I’m taking Whitney Houston’s Greatest Hits, I’m taking Jay-Z’s Blueprint and… I can’t bring Pandora?
No Pandora, that’s a good one though.

What do you think of the name Blue Ivy Carter?
I think it’s awesome, it’s cool. I don’t know what it means. I think that coming from them, everyone was expecting they had to come up with something awesome. I would like to know what it means if you guys want to give me the inside scoop.
Valentine’s Day is coming up, who’s your celebrity crush?
I don’t do celebrities. I would much rather go out with a regular guy.
Not one?
If I had to pick one, then my celebrity crush is definitely Rihanna.
When you do your first big movie who would you want to co-star with you?
Who do you guys think would compliment me? Denzel.
Denzel works.
We could do like a Tomb Raider movie, make him come save me or something.
What is the moment in your life where you said ‘Holy sh*t, I can’t believe I’m doing this’?
I walked into Fredrick’s of Hollywood the other day and I didn’t know that they posted me in their store. I went in looking for my catalogue and it got a huge a poster. That just happened this weekend.
It takes a lot to surprise me. I would say moving to New York. The way I moved to New York I came with one suitcase for fashion week and my agent. I’m with Elite and all over the board and my agent said you’re not going to be able to make it in New York. You’re too short and it’s going to eat you up and spit you out and I showed her. Went and got an apartment in Soho and I haven’t been back since.
What designer do you like to wear?
I like Vera Wang. I think that her dresses are very nice.
10 years from now, what are you doing?
Bossing a bunch of people around. I want to be the boss.
