Lana Del Rey has gotten a ton of press since she performed on Saturday Night Live last weekend.

Unfortunately it’s been the wrong kind of press.

Leave Lana Del Rey Alone!

Lana Del Rey’s performance was largely panned by the blogosphere and fans watching that night.

Even celebrities got their digs in: Actress Juliette Lewis Tweeted “Wow watching this ‘singer’ on SNL is like watching a 12 year old in their bedroom when theyre pretending to sing and perform #signofourtimes.”

And NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams sent an e-mail to Gawker founder Nick Denton, where he called her performance “one of the worst outings in SNL history.”

So what does Lana have to say about all of this?

Well, the singer has been quiet since the disastrous performances. However, Fuse filmed an interview with the sultry singer days before her SNL introduction.

During the interview, Lana — as if she already knew she was gong to give a lousy show — explained what kind of performer she was:

“I think, like, the people who have been listening to my music for a little while know that I’m more of a writer and, like, a studio singer.  So I think if you come to the show, you really just come to hear the songs on the record that you might like. You can’t expect too much from my show. (Laughs)”

That’s a pretty astounding admission from the newbie singer. It was obvious that Lana was anxious about her SNL debut:

“Sometimes I feel less nervous than other times. I mean, I don’t love live television.

The only tip I have is pray, just hope that things work out. (Laughs)”

Lana’s debut album Born To Die drops January 31st. You might want to pick that up, but maybe think twice about copping tickets to her show.
