As previously reported, the Project Runway star and Grammy winning singer filed for divorce last weekend after a seemingly blissful seven years of marriage. The couple issued a joint statement late Sunday when rumors emerged that the couple split over Seal’s inability to control his anger.
The couple told the press:
“While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul searching we have decided to separate. We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition. We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children’s sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy.”

Heidi and Seal were married in 2005 and share four children together – including Heidi’s daughter from a previous marriage.
The soon-to-be exes are keeping their divorce details private and who could blame them? After all, divorces are messy and complicated on their own without added scrutiny from the public.
But this particular split evokes a special sadness. Fans of “America’s sweethearts” are devastated to see them part and hope the two will soon come to an agreement and reconcile.
Which makes us question whether or not there is still hope left for Hollywood’s married couples?!
We’ve seen it all before, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, Resse Witherspoon and Ryan Philippe, Ashton and Demi, etc. etc., all couples who appeared cheerful and oh-so-in-love; only to later head down splitsville lane.
Why is it so hard for celeb couples to stay together?
Heidi and Seal’s marriage seemed like a fairy tale romance and set the tone for what a real marriage in Hollywood should look like. But while big smiles and pretty pictures tell one story, the family lived another reality.
The twosomes’ fame and success could also be an underlying reason for the split. Heidi’s ever-expanding career ventures have led to an overwhelming amount of success for Klum, which could possibly be tearing the two apart.
We’d love to say marriage is an easy venture but it’s not, especially for high profile celeb couples.
After years of growing with them, we’d love to see the couple reconcile with each other, but if not, we wish them and their family the best.
Although, we are going to have to seriously re-evaluate our faith in celeb marriages!
