Detectives investigating the murder have no suspects or witnesses in Parks’ slaying, said Sgt. Barry Mullins.

Parks was a 10th-grade student at Pencader Charter High School of Business and Finance in Collins Park.

School officials Ann E. Lewis told Delaware online, “He was a really nice kid from a good family, we’re going to miss him.”

Parks’ sister, who also attends the school, led students in a candlelight vigil for her brother. Parks’ death is the third homicide in the city this month.

Parks’ funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Congo Funeral Home at 2317 N. Market St. in Wilmington.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective John Ciritella at 576-3629.
