The Flaming Lips have always been a strange bunch.

Finding artists who complement the band’s psychedelic style of rock music hasn’t been the easiest task.

Until now.

Over the last couple of months, the band has been recording a collaboration album with some of this generation’s most unique artists.

Just a couple of days ago we showed you video of bad girl Ke$ha having a ball, hanging out with The Flaming Lips in the studio.

There’s more where that came from, though.

Pitchfork got their hands on previews of two of the other collaborative songs that are expected to be on the album.

The songs don’t have titles yet, but one features Bon Iver, in a song that features the same type of downbeat, meticulous mood that was found throughout Iver’s self-tilted sophomore album.

The other track features Erykah Badu in a faster, percussion heavy track.

Both are pretty unique and definitely deserve a listen.

Head over to Pitchfork to check them out.

The Flaming Lips collaborative album is supposed to drop on April 21st, and it’s expected to have features by the aforementioned artists, as well as Nick Cave, Yoko Ono and Neon Indian.
