Facebook finally filed its S1 registration with the Security & Exchange Commission (SEC). The filing not only gets Facebook that much closer to its IPO on the stock exchange, it also gave people insight into the company’s operations and ownerships, among other things.

With an estimated $100 million market value, one might wonder why this information would make one particular graffiti artist very happy.

That graffiti artist is David Choe.

Back in 2005, when the Facebook offices were being decorated, then Facebook President Sean Parker asked the artist to paint murals at its Palo Alto headquarters. Choe was asked whether he wanted to be paid in cash or in stocks; he wisely chose stocks and now his thinking ahead has paid off.

7 years after he received his “payment,” Facebook is set to go public and Choe’s shares are worth $200 million dollars, making him on par with Damien Hirst as one of the richest artists alive and definitely the richest graffiti artist.
