Kanye West is flipping a fashionable middle finger to his critics. Despite a highly critiqued debut at Paris Fashion Week back in October, Yeezy is committed to coming back with a round two for the haters.
The rapper-turned-designer plans to debut the second installment to “DW by Kanye West” during Paris Fashion Week on March 6, 2012 at 9:30 p.m., his spokesman at the Karla Otto agency said.

If October is too far back for recollection, a quick re-cap of Yeezy’s debut will do some great justice here. Buzz began to form around Kanye’s serious dabbling in the design realm last summer, but nothing was solidified until the invitations went to print.
Kanye filled his show with all the makings of a grand slam fashion show: an impressive model lineup, a minimalist venue, and a star-studded front row, but according to critics, the one thing missing was clarity in Yeezy’s design vision.

‘Ye caught a lot of slack for retiring his rapper hat to don one of a fashion designer, particularly from Wall Street Journal writer Christina Binkley, who penned a piece called “Good Thing Kanye Has A Day Job,” bashing the artists’ work as a designer.
America is infamously the land of second chances and it is in our geographical DNA to love a good comeback story, so we have a couple of suggestions to make Kanye West’s return to fashion a successful comeback story!
Refrain from using Amber Rose as a fashion muse.
‘Ye, please don’t front. We know you used to dress Amber; there is no secret there. But when it comes to seeking a fashion muse, we would like to hope that you dig a little further for inspiration than the Philly native. Amber Rose has a fly style all her own, but it isn’t one that you should try to subconsciously recreate for the runway.
Use fabric that is readily accessible:
Yes, Yeezy we know you are the former Louis Vuitton don, but you have to be realistic about the choice in fabrics for a women’s fashion line. Most of the critiques came from featuring attractive, but unattainable fabrics and leathers. We know ‘Ye wants his models to be able to say “Yeezy taught me” when they’re asked about extensive knowledge of exotic leathers, but they aren’t ideal materials to reproduce for retail consumption.
Be seasonally appropriate:
One of the largest backlashes from the critics was that the line was marketing furs and leathers for summer and spring. The idea was there, but the seasonal appropriateness, not so much. Just bring it back ‘Ye, right idea in the wrong season. But please don’t show shorts and tanks for the Fall collection because there will truly be no resurrection there.
Pay homage to a fashion heavy hitter:
Seriously, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. How can Anna Wintour bash a show that features models wearing her staple dark sunglasses? Easy does it…and so does flattery.
Just tailor that sh*t.
Kanye spent weeks after his show defending the pieces that critics called poorly tailored by saying that he intended for the slouching pants and oversized jackets to fit in the manner that they did. But nobody seemed to catch wind of the intentionally unintentionally tailored garments but Kanye. Make the clothes fit the model, because the tongue-in-cheek satire that normally laces lyrics does not translate so well to the runway.
