GlobalGrind readers have spoken!

After hundreds of votes were cast, GlobalGrind readers decided to crown Roc Nation rapper J.Cole as the “Hottest MC Of 2011.”

LIST: MTV’s 2011 Hottest MC Nominees List

J.Cole first captured the hearts and attention of hip-hop lovers when he released his second mixtape The Warm Up in 2009.

The Warm Up caught the attention of rap legend and one of the best rappers of all time Jay-Z, who eventually signed J.Cole to his Roc Nation label.

Soon after inking a deal with Jay, J.Cole hit the studio to start flushing out his debut solo album. Despite his feature on Jay-Z’s “A Star Is Born” track, fans still didn’t have a solo project from the newly signed rapper.

NEW MUSIC: Jay-Z & Blue Ivy Carter “Glory”

Two long years, two mixtapes, and multiple album setbacks, J.Cole finally delivered his album Coleworld: The Sideline Story on September 27, 2011.

Coleworld: The Sideline Story was one of the most anticipated albums of 2011, and was well received by music critics. Coleworld: The Sideline Story debuted at the number one on Billboard moving 218,000 copies in its first week.

Since then, J.Cole’s debut album has gone officially gold with more than 500,000 copies sold.

If you all are wondering how J.Cole stacked against the other MCs on our list – Jay-Z came in a close second, followed by Drake, Kanye West, and Nicki Minaj, who rounded out the “Top 5 MC’s Of 2011.”

GlobalGrind readers voted and J.Cole has been crowned! Congrats!
