Christopher Mack, 57, a cousin of Hunter said that “His vitals are all fine,” after being in a medically induced coma at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H..

The eighth grader shot himself with a 20-gauge shotgun in the cafeteria of Walpole Elementary School during lunch hour, according to local officials.

Classes have resumed today at the Walpole Elementary School. On Friday the school was under lockdown for several hours after Hunter tried to kill himself.

A message on the school district’s website says school is being held Monday and that crisis response counselors will be available for students and staff.

The message says the district staff’s thoughts and prayers are with the family of Hunter, students and their families.

Many questions still need to be answered as investigators want to interview students, staff and teachers to determine how Hunter got the gun and was able to bring it into the school.
