As the world continues to mourn the passing of Whitney Houston President Barack Obama expressed his thoughts through his press secretary, Jay Carney, on the death of the musical legend.

The President was questioned by reporters whether he has ever met Whitney Houston and if he’s a fan of her music.

Carney said that the President is concerned about Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina after her recent hospital scares.
“I actually don’t know if he’s ever met — if he did ever meet Whitney Houston. And as for his — I mean, I think it would be hard not to be an admirer of her immense talent, and I know that — well, I haven’t spoken with him about it, but I am — I know that his thoughts and prayers are with her family, especially her daughter. I mean, it’s a tragedy to lose somebody so talented at such a young age.”
In the aftermath of her mother’s death Bobbi was taken to the hospital last Saturday night and again on Sunday the family says that she “hysterical, exhausted and inconsolable” and fear that she may be suicidal.
