In the past we’ve brought you the dirtiest cities in the world and the most dangerous cities in America to showcase how people live in other parts of the world. Now comes the most expensive cities in the world!
These are the cities that will leave your pockets on E.
The latest Worldwide Cost of Living Survey from the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) found the priciest cities in the world.
So how did the EIU come up with their ranking? Their survey compared the price of hundreds of products and services, including food, rent, and transportation, in 131 cities.
The prices are then indexed to New York City, which keeps a score of 100.
So for instance, looking at a city like Zurich, Switzerland, which beat Tokyo by a score of 170 to 166, shows that living in those cities is 70 percent and 66 percent more expensive than living in NYC, as measured in U.S. dollars.
Let’s see how the rest of the world’s cities stack up against the likes of Tokyo and Zurich.
