Combine the lighthearted, comical lyrics of Mac Miller with Raekwon’s drug raps and Posdnuos’ dense wordplay and what do you get?

Well, we don’t really know. But we’re soon going to find out.

Mac Miller was recently on DJ Skee’s SkeeTV doing an interview, when he mentioned that he had a remix planned for “Of The Soul,” one of the standout tracks off his debut album, Blue Side Park

On the remix, Miller said he planned to have verses from Wu Tang Clan’s Raekwon and De La Soul’s Posdnuos.

MUSIC: Mac Miller “Death Of The Emcee”

During the interview, Mac Miller explained why the Pos verse makes sense, saying:

“But just Posdnous, he was the inspiration for the record — it’s ‘Of the Soul,’ that’s the translation of De La Soul — and so I hit him and said, ‘You gotta rap on this with me, man.’ It was actually Mick Boogie’s idea, he hit me and said, ‘You should get De La on the song.'”

As for why Raekwon on the song, Mac Miller really didn’t say why. But, why not? Rae’s a legend!

At the time the interview was done, Mac had already got a verse from Posdnuos, but he was still waiting for Rae to send in his 16.

Since Mac Miller has started to heat up, the Pittsburgh-native has already done a number of collaborations with hip-hop’s most respected emcees. This includes collabos with Cam’ron, Talib Kweli and Bun B.

It looks like Mac is trying to get his real-rap card stamped.

We see you, playa!
