Sometimes in Hip-Pop we get so distracted by the hoopla that surrounds an entertainer’s persona, we forget that they are just that on stage — a persona.
This morning over breakfast we got a look at Lady Gaga before she switched things up and donned a lightening bolt Poker Face. The retro photos of dark haired Gaga circa 2005 prompted us to think about who our most over the top female songstresses were before they dipped in glitter and hit the stage.
Before Nicki Minaj was transformed in to a real life Barb blessing the Grammys red carpet with a Pope and rocking multi-colored wigs, she was just a rapper from Queens. And prior to Katy Perry’s blue haired days as the biggest pop star in the world, she was rocking short locks and singing in the church choir.
