It is no secret that the Ford Explorer is widely regarded as America’s favorite SUV. Made here in America for Americans, it’s versatility is what sets it apart.  The Ford Explorer is not only built “Ford tough” to be able to withstand any kind of condition, it was also made with style, comfort and affordability in mind.      

And it is absolutely the perfect vehicle to drive around in to explore. When planning a trip, people often travel outside of the country to try and find somewhere exotic, scenic, historic and warm to vacate.  But, what is often forgetten is that there are just as many beautiful, scenic sites right here in America that can provide the same relaxation and even a mini history lesson.

Take a look at the top 10 places in America you should explore in your Ford Explorer.

1. There’s no place like New Orleans. Putting Mardis Gras aside, we’d be happy to travel down south any day of the year. From the historic French Quarter to that authentic southern food, we wouldn’t mind becoming Saints fans just to fit in with the locals. 

2. Yosemite National Park is located in the mountainous terrain of the Sierra Nevada of California and is a beautiful place to venture off to for photography, camping, or just a peaceful escape to experience nature at its finest. 

3. The Grand Canyon is located in Arizona, and boarders Utah and Nevada. The breath taking view of the landscape is an absolute must see.

4. Miami…need we say more? It’s America’s own exotic getaway. From the party scene of South Beach to the crystal blue water, we’d be happy to take the trip down. No wonder there are so many snow birds in this country.

5. Yellowstone National Park is located in Wyoming, Montana and Idaho and has a large wildlife population that includes grizzly bears, wolves, bison, and elk. It is also home to many hot springs as well as the historical geyser “Old Faithful.”

6. Crater Lake is located in Oregon. It it is a deep, blue lake with surrounding mountains that are nearly two thousand feet high.  

7. We’ve all seen the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, but imagine driving across the bridge and taking in the scenic views in real life. From China Town to Alcatraz, it’s its own mini history lesson. As long as you don’t mind the steep roads, San Fran is the perfect spot to take in a melting pot of cultures.

8. Calsbad Caverns is located in New Mexico. And underneath of the dry, rocky, desert land are more is a world of caves with massive stalagmites and stalactites.

9. Hot Springs Arkansas is located in Arkansas and is home to some of the most beautiful, relaxing, warm hot springs.

10. Las Vegas, better known as Sin City is the ultimate American getaway, depending who you ask. A drive up the strip and a round at the famous casinos is enough to draw us in. No wonder it’s a hot spot for our favorite celebs.
