In a humid, foggy and stuffed Santos Party House, electronic pop music band The Knocks kicked off their 6-date Neon Gold Tour in epic fashion in New York City on Thursday night.

Before The Knocks were to perform, however, hip-hop duo Chiddy Bang — who years ago sampled The Knocks’ song “Blackout” for their own record, “Here We Go,” — was set to make a special guest appearance.

The crowd was a already a little antsy when Chiddy Bang, which consists of lead rapper Chidera “Chiddy” Anamege and DJ/producer Noah “Xaphoon Jones” Beresin, appeared on stage a couple of minutes past 10.

Whatever impatient attitude was in the air instantly lifted as the lights dimmed, and Chiddy energetically raced through his group’s set. Chiddy performed some earlier gems (including an exciting rendition of “Opposite Of Adults”) but it was hearing the new joints off the group’s debut album, Breakfast, which dropped this past Tuesday, that was the most fun.

Chiddy and his live-band killed it by performing bangers from the new album, including the two first singles, “Ray Charles” and “Mind Your Manners.”

After a short intermission, The Knocks, who consist of Ben “B-Roc” Ruttner and James “JPatt” Patterson, were ready to roll.

To signify the occasion, The Knocks had two sexy ladies, who are appropriately titled “The Knockites,” and who were wearing white-swan looking outfits, dancing during their set.

Throughout their performance the dancing and energy of the crowd stayed high as the band performed songs off their latest EP, Magic, including their super catchy latest single, “Brightside.”

The entire show was sweaty, poppy fun, and if you’re around when The Knocks stop by your city, you should check them out.

Last night, The Knocks took their tour to a sold-out, raucous crowd at the Middle East Downstairs in Boston, and tonight they are headed to Hartford, Connecticut to tear down Trinity College.

If you want to check out The Knocks for yourself, here are the rest of the tour dates for their Neon gold Tour:

March 3rd Hartford, CT @ Trinity College – The Mill (Neon Gold Tour)

March 6th Washington, DC @ U Street Music Hall (Neon Gold Tour)
