It was announced yesterday that Apple sold over $3 million iPads in just the first weekend that it was released.
In Apple’s first quarter after the launch of the iPad 2, the company announced that it had sold 4.6 million iPads altogether. This basically means that in the first weekend they almost surpassed the iPad 2’s entire first quarter!

With numbers like that, they are projected to sell close to 66 million iPads by the end of the year. This quarter alone with the sale of iPad 2s, the company sold 15.4 million iPads.
We don’t know who is buying all of these iPads, but with the updated HD display, graphic processing power and long battery life, we guess that it is attracting a lot of first time buyers. Either way, it’s a great device but will set you back anywhere from $499 to $849, so it’s up to you whether or not you will contribute to Apple’s mountain of money!
