It’s been one month since we’ve all heard about the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, the young man who was killed while walking home from a 7-Eleven by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman in Sanford, Fl.
Trayvon was returning to his father’s home from the convenience store when Zimmerman started following him, telling police dispatchers he looked suspicious. Zimmerman disregarded orders from police when they told him not to engage.
The two got into a confrontation and Zimmerman pulled out his 9mm handgun, shooting Trayvon dead.
Trayvon’s shooting has sparked widespread outrage, as his grief stricken parents are still calling for Zimmerman’s immediate arrest.
A month has passed and still, no justice. There have been rallies, marches, interviews and protests and Zimmerman remains free – though in hiding.
It’s important to know how we’ve gotten to this point, so here is a quick timeline of the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. #HoodiesUp
