The tragic murder of Trayvon Martin has been receiving a lot of media attention over the past few weeks.
Trayvon was murdered by a Sanford, Florida watchman identified as George Zimmerman on grounds of self-defense. The case has inflicted national outrage and is sparking a conversation about racial relations in America.
Trayvon’s brother Jahvaris Fulton, a student at Florida International University, spoke exclusively with CBS Miami about his disapproval of decisions made by Sanford authorities saying:
“It’s just baffling how people just take his word for it, as if that’s exactly what happened, and no question about it,” said Fulton. I think it sends the wrong message. It tells people that you can murder someone, no one sees it, and you can say its self defense. That’s essentially what happened and I don’t think people should get that.”
Jahvaris, who plans on attending a Miami rally for Trayvon today, urged supporters “just to continue to fight for justice…”
