Fast food chain Burger King has linked up with some of Hollywood’s big names to help usher in the announcement of some of their newest menu items.

Actress Salma Hayek, soccer player and model David Beckham and talk show host Jay Leno all partnered with the ‘home of the Whopper’ for their own 30 second commercial spots.

But what’s really got the dot com buzzing is a campaign featuring the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul, Mary J Blige, singing out the ingredients to the new Crispy Chicken Snack Wrap: “crispy chicken, fresh lettuce, three cheeses, ranch dressing, wrapped in a, tasty, flour, tortilla.”

Alex Macedo, Burger King’s Senior Vice President of North American Marketing, claims that the commercials were designed to grab and direct consumer attention to the company’s menu expansion.

But all we can think is: Mary’s singing about chicken!

The King of the flame broiled and the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul’s partnership seems to be ruffling a few feathers, but when not over-analyzed, it’s really a hilarious thirty second piece of advertisement.

Allegedly, Mary’s tailored lyrics and vocals came with a price tag of $2 million, but neither side has confirmed.
