Former Bad Boy rapper Trevell Coleman, aka G-Dep, will possibly serve 25 years for a murder he committed more than 17 years ago.

Dep shot a man three times in an attempted robbery in Harlem and last year he admitted to the murder in an on-camera confession.
Dep called the confession a relief and refused a bargain that was offering him a 15-year sentence. That confession video has been released, showing him distraught and subdued as he detailed how the shooting went down.
Now 37 and married with children, Dep is facing the possibility of 25 years, even though the victim John Henkel’s own family has criticized the rapper’s decision to come forward, saying it needlessly stoked the relatives’ pain.
