Today, a conflict of interest arose as it was announced that Recksiedler’s husband works for the law firm of Mark NeJame, a CNN legal analyst.
NeJame is the other lawyer George Zimmerman contacted before he called his new attorney Mark O’Mara. Jessica’s husband, Jason Recksiedler, works for NeJame’s firm.
Recksiedler has been a judge for little more than a year and before she became a judge, she worked as a prosecutor handling juvenile sex crimes.
She is a graduate of Stetson University’s law school and has been a lawyer for 15 years. Recksiedler is board certified and is one of only 4,500 of 90,000-plus Florida lawyers deemed to be a specialist in civil law.
She surprised everyone when she won her election, defeating former judge Oscar Hotusing of Brevard County.
Recksiedler and her husband have two children.
