This season, fruit and vegetables have made their way to the runways. Fresh greens are being incorporated into the patterns of high fashion blouses, dresses and accessories from brands ranging from Dolce & Gabbana to Prada.

The surreal association of fashion with a vegetable garden is mostly just for fun. Maybe that is why shoppers went bananas over Miuccia Prada’s playful banana blouses and earrings. And maybe fashion needs that kind of joy!

A recent fashion spread for T Magazine, the New York Times Style Magazine, incorporated actual fruits and vegetables into the shoot. But rather than just putting the food in the shot, they actually made the greens into clothing.

This is unlike anything we have seen before. T Magazine managed to make the greens look like creations straight from the runway, based on clothing that actually came from the runway.
