Check out our candid interview below!

What’s your favorite thing to do besides making music?

I don’t know. I’m pretty simple. I’m not really a event person like that cause it’s a lot of ripping and running, so when not working I like to relax for the most part. I really like sports. I like to play basketball a lot. I grew up in sports, soccer and basketball.

So you go hard in the paint?

(Laughs) I guess you can say I go hard in the paint. That’s what I do. I’m a big sports fan. I love it.

Who’s your favorite team for basketball?

I rock with The Heat. I’m living in Miami right now, so I rock with The Heat. But, it’s so hard not to be a fan of OKC and what they’re doing. Between me and you, I feel like they gonna be the ones to get the championship this year. They’re young and they seem like they got a lot of camaraderie and chemistry over there. There’s not a lot of distractions for them over there, I feel.

What’s been your favorite moment doing shows on tour?

With me spending a lot of time in the studio, actually recording and writing these records, it’s always cool to get out and perform. When people already know the lyrics and when people sing back or sing along, it’s always an awesome feeling.

For people to just relate, you know what I’m saying?!  It’s always a great feeling.

If you were sent to a deserted island, and you can only take three albums with you, which albums would you bring?

I would have to bring Kanye’s Graduation, maybe Michael Jackson’s Off the Wall…and one more. That’s a tough one. I’m going to just say N.E.R.D. In Search Of…

What’s something that you can’t live without?

I can’t live without singing, without recording, without music. I can’t live without it. Not one day I go without singing or wanting to listen to music or just be in that vibe. I just can’t go without it.

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?

Growing up a only child, they might not know that.

What kind of only child were you?

I used to always want to be around my friends, parties at my friends crib. I had to learn how to make friends and being in Orlando is kind of like a melting pot, you get people from all different cultures and walks of life. It just gave me the opportunity to hone my skills and communicate with different types of people, not just people in my immediate area. Also, growing up I went to a private school, it’s just different types of people there. When I came home to my neighborhood, and it wasn’t the best neighborhood, but I was just able to vibe with all types of people, growing up in Orlando and being a only child.

Do you have a celebrity crush?

I don’t know. There’s a lot of beautiful women in the game right now. You know what though—you know who’s really pretty? She’s always been pretty, and she’s still pretty: I think Stacey Dash. She is always somewhere at the top of the list. I’d give her the props.
