DETAILS: Oops! NBC News Busted By Fox Over Trayvon Martin Coverage

In the new NBC reality show called Escape Routes, 6 teams go across the country to different places and compete against each other in missions in order to win $100,000 and two brand new 2013 Ford Escapes.

Iris and Terrence are best friends competing on the reality show, and they’re really bringing their A-game!

Not only do they get the chance to win, but you can win along with them.

You can help them by going to the NBC Escape Routes official site, and help them virtually with their challenges, which will help you win stuff for yourself!

We caught up with Iris and Terrence during their free time on the show to ask them a little bit about how they got to be a part of the show, and who is their biggest competition.

Check out the interview below!

GlobalGrind: How did you get to be a part of the show?

Terrence: I saw a casting that told me to bring friends, and I said, “Why would I bring friends to an audition?” not thinking about it. So I went by myself, and the casting directors liked me, and I told them I had a fear of little people because a midget jumped on me and almost strangled me. They liked me, but they wanted to see if I had any friends. So I called Iris, who was in downtown L.A. at the time, and I told her that she had 15 minutes to get there, even though it’s about 30 minutes away. She got there within 15 minutes, and the rest is history.

How did you guys become friends?

Iris: We met at dance class. At first I didn’t like him. I asked him if he was a dancer and he just kind of gave me this snobby look: “YES, I’m a dancer”! We were the only African American people in the whole place! I was like, “Great, now the only African American person here is mean to me. The next day I saw him, and I changed my hair. So I tried say hi again, and he didn’t even recognize me.

Did any of you guys use your dance experience on the show?

Terrence: Oh my god, I think we’re about to use it!

Iris: Yeah, the first interactive challenge we had was a talent one, so we did an African dance. We’re going to have another interactive challenge and the online virtual teammates will select a different type of dance for each team. We don’t know what we’re doing yet.

Who would you say is your biggest competition?

Iris: You just have to take it one mission at a time. I think everyone is our biggest competition. No one is off limits.

Terrence: I think a couple of them are wack!

What do you guys do in your free time whenever you have some?

Iris: Well the most important thing is relaxation. It really helps you through the long week to have a day to relax. In Atlanta we went to the aquarium, and we went to a couple of restaurants to eat as well on the Sunday we were in Atlanta. On our off days we try to keep it mellow, because the weekdays are so crazy.
