Check out his response below:

Beastie Boys were innovators. They were the first white rappers and first white hip hop band to really make a mark in the urban market. Everybody loved the Beastie Boys, and not only that, but they had longevity. They kept going with the old school way of thinking. They kept it moving. They were the change with the times. We lost a big one. They have to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. I knew it wasn’t a good thing, but I didn’t think it was this close. He never got to see him put into the Hall of Fame and it was a sad thing.

My favorite memory was seeing how much fun they had. They never took it so serious, which is what made them touchable or like they were homeboys with everybody. That’s why they lasted as long as they lasted. They didn’t follow the path everybody else followed; they followed their own path. They didn’t sound like nobody and that’s why they were so innovative.

Our condolences go out to the friends and family of Adam. We hope to see his music live on forever.
