Some people might find it weird to have a painting with someone else’s blood smeared on it…
But when it’s Amy Winehouse’s blood, that makes all the strangeness associated with it worth big bucks.
Former Libertines singer Pete Doherty decided to auction off his artistic collaboration with the late singer Friday, titled “Ladylike.”
The painting features smears of the two’s blood and was said to possibly rake in between $80,000-$129,000 but in fact sold for over $45,000.
Doherty told The Independent before the exhibition:
“Amy was on the phone to her dad when she did that [painting],”
He recalls Amy sayin:
“‘Dad, I’m with Pete and he’s making me draw with my blood!’ He didn’t like me much, her dad.”
No word on who the lucky person who got the artwork is, but they must be a die hard Amy Winehouse fan.
