The trailer for the upcoming movie Sparkle has finally hit the ‘net, and it features Whitney Houston singing what may very well have been her last song.
The trailer reminds us how truly sensational and beautiful Whitney’s voice was, in addition to her unquestionable talent.
Whitney made sure to highlight her voice, because in the original version of Sparkle the mother does not sing.
The film is set in 1960s Detroit where three sisters form a singing group and become extremely famous -maybe too famous. As time goes on, the family starts to disband as a result of the rising popularity and everything becomes a struggle.
Whitney plays the mother of the three girls that guides them through their time in the spotlight.
In addition to her character, she also served as executive producer of the movie before her untimely death back in February.
Sparkle comes out in theaters on August 17th, so be sure to save the date!
