We’ve watched them struggle with teen motherhood on MTV’s hit show Teen Mom and as the network has been promoting the cast’s last season one of their major personalities is getting started on a 5 year prison sentence!

On Tuesday in Madison Indiana Circuit Judge David Happe ruled that the Amber Portwood must serve the prison time he imposed earlier this year when she pleaded guilty to a felony drug charge.

But Amber avoided prison with a plea deal that included drug rehab, but she now dropped out of the program last month and would rather serve the time!

Bizarre right?!

DETAILS: Lock Down! Teen Mom’s Amber Portwood BANNED From Show

She reveals to the ABC News:

“In my situation, I felt in the program there were a lot of eyes on me. And it was very uncomfortable. I was not using my anti-psych medication even,

The reality TV star continues:

“You know, I was very depressed, all alone, all bitter at everybody. I felt like that wasn’t the life I wanted to live, I felt like I’d rather do my time, and get it over with, and make the best out of the situation that’s been handed to me.”

While on her “vacation” Amber plans to be productive. She says:

“I’m going to take some classes, I’m going to get my GED, take as many programs as I can, you know, just try to better myself for when I do get out and not stay in prison … I’ll be off the drugs, I’ll have an education to get me a job.”

A five year bid sounds like quite the sentence to just “get it over with” but to each their own. Amber Portwood may have had those most drama-filled time on the show so maybe this time away will do her some good.
