The weekend has come and gone and now it’s time for all of us to get back on our grind this Monday morning. While Mondays may be the most hated day of the week for the working world, we have to embrace it and just countdown until the next weekend.

Today for Dollars & Sense, we found a couple of things you can do in Boston for free. So while you work hard throughout the day, you can think of these things that may help you feel like it’s still the weekend.

Check Out The Street Performers In Harvard Square

Harvard Square, located on The University of Harvard’s campus, is great place to go where you don’t need your wallet. Home to over 300 street performers, everywhere you look, Harvard Square will always have something entertaining for you to watch without having to pull out any money. You can sit on a bench, enjoy the sun, and just watch all the movement around you.

Take A Trip To The Bunker Hill Monument:

A little known monument that looks almost identical to the famous Washington Monument in Washington D.C., is the Bunker Hill Monument .  The Bunker Hill Monument was built to commemorate the Battle of Bunker Hill.  It’s 221 feet tall and consists of 294 steps to the top and you don’t have to pay a dime to take a tour. While there are no elevators, once you climb to the top, you will have beautiful views of the Boston Skyline. So not only will you get an amazing view, but you will also burn some calories climbing those steps!

Financial Tip of the Day

Bring Your Own Snacks when Flying

Booking a flight can sometimes put a dent in your bank account and can sometimes be a pain dealing with delayed or cancelled flights. Do not spend more money than you need to when at the aiport by bringing your own food to the airport. They hike up the price on everything knowing travelers are hungry and need to eat. Be smart and bring some food the trip and also bring an empty water bottle to fill up at one of the water fountains. You’ll see it will make a big difference!
