This week it was unveiled that Jerry Sandusky has been convicted of 45 of the 48 counts of child abuse, and that a new victim had come forward; his son.

His adopted son, Matt Sandusky, has spoken out on having been abused as a child, and now his biological parents are saying their part.

According to the ABC, they have expressed their disappointment from not preventing Jerry from abusing him.

His father told ABC back in November:

“She feels like she let the other victims down by not being able to stop this back then,’ he said. ‘It’s weighing real heavily on her mind.”

The site reports:

Mike Long, husband of Matt’s biological mother Debra, said the 33-year-old had long struggled with behavioral problems which became worse when he went to live with Sandusky and his wife Dottie in 1995, two years before they adopted him and he changed his name.

When the boy set a barn on fire, ‘the courts used it to make Matt go live with Jerry’, according to Mr Long.

He also told the New York Times:

“Jerry likes tall, thin boys that he could overpower.”

My son was afraid of Jerry,’ she said. ‘If Jerry said don’t talk, he didn’t talk.

‘I would sit back and watch when Jerry would show up, how excited Matt was. And then, as time went on, I would watch the same kid hide behind the bedroom door and say, “Mom, tell him I’m not home.”’

While it would have been best to speak out before, we’re glad that justice is being served for Jerry’s son Matt and many other victims.
