There has been a lot of controversy being brought to Penn State ever since Jerry Sandusky was found guilty of child abuse earlier this month.

The University has had to deal with a lot of consequences for his actions, and now it looks like there is more fuel being added to the flame.

DETAILS: Sandusky Who?! Penn State Moves On After The Trial

Apparently, officials from the school were aware of Sandusky’s actions but chose to keep quiet. Anderson Cooper and CNN obtained emails from athletic director Tim Curley showing he almost went to the authorities but didn’t after a conversation with Joe Paterno.

After a chat with the coach , Tim was persuaded into keeping quiet about the abuse and emailed administrator, Gary Schultz that he decided not to go through with shining a light on Sandusky’s abusive ways.

The email says:

“After giving it more thought and talking it over with Joe (Paterno) yesterday, I am uncomfortable with what we agreed were the next steps. I am having trouble with going to everyone, but the person involved (Sandusky).”

Tim also said in the email how he was worried about the repercussions of not reporting the abuse:

“The only downside for us is if the message isn’t heard and acted upon and we then become vulnerable for not having reported it.”

While this is unacceptable on Penn State’s end, we can only hope justice is served for all of the victims of Jerry Sandusky’s assault.
