It’s Monday again and it’s time to go back to work. The weekend is always filled with fun events and much needed down time, but it’s back to the grind. Let’s try to make this Monday as painless as possible.

So for something exciting this morning, let’s talk about some free activities. If you live in Alexandria, Virginia, or might be visiting there sometime soon, we found some fun things to do there that will cost you no money at all.

Visit the Torpedo Factory Art Center:

The three-story art center was constructed in 1918 for manufacturing torpedos. It now features 82 working artists studios, six galleries, the Art League School and Archaeology Museum. Vistors can watch artists work and purchase gifts from the studios and galleries. There are also special programs and exhibits at the Archaeology Museum and art classes for kids at the Art League School.

Visit the Fort Ward Museum:

This museum offers free admission and is the best preserved Union Fort. It was built to protect Washington, DC during the American Civil War. There are always events going on and exhbits to visit. Visitors can learn more about the Civil War-era military engineering as the museum offers tours and lectures for the different exhibits.
