Morgan Freeman, a.k.a. the most noticeable voice in American media, recently said Barack Obama should not be called the first black president.

STORY: This Again? Morgan Freeman Says Barack Isn’t The First Black President

In an interview on NPR’s “Tell Me More” with host Michel Martin, Freeman spoke about Obama’s family, dissecting his parents’ racial and demographic origins.

Freeman said:

“First thing that always pops into my head regarding our president is that all of the people who are setting up this barrier for him … they just conveniently forget that Barack had a mama, and she was white — very white American, Kansas, middle of America.

There was no argument about who he is or what he is. America’s first black president hasn’t arisen yet. He’s not America’s first black president — he’s America’s first mixed-race president.”

Not only is this ignorant, it’s also wrong. We’ve had seven black presidents (including Obama), but that’s no longer important.

What use is a Black president, a White president, a Korean president, a Mexican president, or a gay president, if they don’t set the precedent for those that follow to do what is right for the people?

This presidential race is not about race. I want a president who will stand in the face of adversity.

One who will fight for the rights of those abroad. One who is not afraid to kill al-Assad. One who will stop the cops who stop me on my block. One who will fight for me and my liberty.

One that I will fight for, that I’ll bleed for, that I’ll cry for, that I’ll grieve for, that I’ll die for. Because I know if their life continues, the next generation will drink from the fountain of prosperity.

That’s what we should look for, not someone who looks like you. So with all that said, take a look at a few Presidents who aren’t 100 percent pure. God bless America and everywhere else.

John Hanson

John Hanson was actually the 1st President of the United States.

Served from 1781 – 1782.

The new country was actually formed on March 1, 1781 with the adoption of The Articles of Confederation. This document was actually proposed on June 11, 1776, but not agreed upon by Congress until November 15, 1777.

Maryland refused to sign this document until Virginia and New York ceded their western lands.

Once the signing took place in 1781, a President was needed to run the country. John Hanson was chosen unanimously by Congress (which included George Washington).

In fact, all the other potential candidates refused to run against him, as he was a major player in the revolution and an extremely influential member of Congress.

As President, Hanson ordered all foreign troops off American soil, as well as removal of all foreign flags. He established the Great Seal of the United States, which all Presidents since have been required to use on all Official Documents. He declared that the 4th Thursday of every November to be Thanksgiving Day, which is still true today.

Even though elected, one variable that was never thought through was that America was not going to accept a Black President during the heart of the enslavement period.

Lincoln’s nickname was “Abraham Africa-nus the First.” Funny enough, he was still racist.
