The Olympics inspire a sense of national pride for just about everyone. The U.S. is especially patriotic, but when you talk about Olympic Basketball, the U.S. Men’s team is famously unstoppable. Although it’s been nearly 20 years since “The Dream Team” graced the Olympic basketball courts of Barcelona in 1992, their legacy of winning each game of the series by an average of 44 points lives on. So much so, that every time the Olympic games come back around, the current team is compared to them.

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of a moment that will forever be etched in basketball history, Nike Sportswear released an animated film that recounts the epic journey of a team who earned the name “The Dream Team.” Inspired by the team’s 1992 victory in Barcelona, Nike Sportswear created a collection that pays homage to their achievements. With the Dream Team Destroyer Jacket as the stand out piece in the film, various chenille patches, graphics and embroideries integrated throughout the jacket convey their story, while the voices of Barkley, Pippen, and Robinson recount the intimate moments that led to the ultimate conquest. Kevin Durant and Kobe Bryant, members of the new team, comment on how the events of ‘92 will be the standard for how they perform this summer for their country.
