Two weeks ago, the New York Times did a revealing profile on our boy Frank Ocean. One of the most interesting tidbits of info to come out of the piece was the fact that Frank and legendary MC Nas did a record together that would never be released because the files were accidently deleted.

The other day, MTV caught up with Nas and they specifically asked the rapper about the record, which would have been called “No Such Thing as White Jesus.”
Even though Nas didn’t acknowledge that record specifically, he did mention that the two artists had something cooking:
“I’ve talked about a song with Frank Ocean about a year and a half before anybody worked with him and since then it’s been a heavily anticipated record, but I didn’t talk about which song actually… We never got to that point of completing a great record. Who knows, I guess it would have been a big record if it would have ever came to life.”

What a shame, the song sounds like it would have been incredible. In the NY Times piece, Frank actually sang some of the lyrics:
“Whatever you do, young king, don’t wind up dead. Young queen, cross your legs. Put a crown on your head and remove the chains. ‘Cause even diamond chains are for slaves. Don’t set foot in no penitentiary and don’t taste the poison. Don’t you bail on your families.”
What. A. Bummer.
