Oh, what a difference a day makes. Yesterday I was dead set on the idea that Chad Johnson was getting dropped and screwed, today, I don’t know what to think.

DETAILS: Evelyn Lozada To Press Charges On Chad Ochocino

Last night we learned that Chad had a prior incident of domestic violence; today we learned that Evelyn has filed for divorce. So what should the man formerly known as Ochocinco do next?

The first thing Chad needs to do is hold a press conference.

No, he doesn’t need to do sit-ups on his lawn, or conduct the interview topless. He just needs to explain what happened, and gracefully part ways with his wife. There is nothing worse than a guy who doesn’t want to let go.

There is no need for subtweets, or tweets that he will later delete. There is no room for snarky remarks, and social media ploys, and besides, he should learn from previous examples.

Chad, who is an avid Twitter user, should unfollow his wife as a friend. Sure, they’ve been an item for the past few years, but now it’s over. Chad needs to move on, because there is no shame in being single. In fact, if he really wants love and a paycheck, host another Of Love show and find another boo. This time, just make sure the field of women is more diverse.

The former Miami Dolphin, who was dropped from the team after his arrest for domestic violence, needs to put this behind him as quickly as possible and consider himself lucky.

Blessings come in all shapes and sizes, and with the series of unfortunate events that have taken place in Chad’s life this week, it’s clear that Ev is not the one for him. If she was, their heads wouldn’t have collided, either purposely or by mistake.

So for now, as Chad joins Kris Humphries as another professional baller to have a short ass marriage, we’ll await his next move. Dropped, canceled, and divorced, what a hell of a way to go out from a guy who once called himself a future Hall of Famer.

Chad, consider yourself free to love who you want.
