“You gotta be smart to be a president. Let me be vice-president. That’s a real idiot’s job.”

-Woody Allen Bananas (1971)

Sometimes the mood has to be loose in the White House; an environment of uptight employees is never a good thing for office moral. You need that guy who isn’t afraid to be himself, outspoken, unbashful and unrelenting; enter the awesomeness of Vice President Joe Biden.

STORY:  TRUUUU! Joe Biden Said Romney Will Put Americans Back In Chains

Don’t we all have that crazy uncle we just love no matter what they say?

And let’s not pretend that Joe Biden’s role as the number 2 man is a hard job. Sure, he has his day-to-day duties and responsibilities, but once you have a guy like Barack Obama at the helm, Joe’s job becomes pretty cushy.

Joe provides comic relief in the White House and he deserves to stay – despite what Republicans say.

Arizona Sen. John McCain and other Republicans have been calling for President Obama to replace Uncle Joe with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on the 2012 ticket, saying that Joe “has a propensity for putting his foot in his mouth.”

Earlier this week, Joe flipped comments made by Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney:

“They’ve said it. Every Republican’s voted for it. Look at what they value and look at their budget and what they’re proposing. Romney wants to let the — he said in the first 100 days, he’s going to let the big banks once again write their own rules — unchain Wall Street…They’re going to put y’all back in chains. He’s said he’s going to do nothing about stopping the practice of outsourcing.”

First off, the last person you should go to for VP advice is McCain, he introduced Sarah Palin to the world, enough said.

Second, putting one’s foot in their mouth is just Joe being Joe. He has blue-collar roots that have stayed with him from his childhood and that’s a quality we admire in a person.

And last, we’ve been down this road before with Joe. In 2008, Obama was heavily criticized for picking Biden as a running mate. Many called him a loose cannon and a liability, but the thing is, you always need someone like Joe on your side and on your team.

Chuck D had Flavor Flav and Obama has Biden; you need someone who is going to ride with you no matter what.

Joe must have done something right, after all, this entire week we’ve been talking about the Vice President, and when was the last time the media devoted this much coverage to the VP?

We’re sure the Obama campaign will continue to let Joe be Joe and hopefully not put a muzzle on him, but then again, what else do you expect from a guy named Joe?

After only his first day on the job, Joe already tries to lighten the mood in the White House as he makes a joke about Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts. Take a look:

You can’t expect Joe to be awake all the time; the guy needs his rest.

And of course, the classic F-bomb dropped by Joe when health care was passed. Joe dropping an F-bomb shows that he really cares and is passionate about the things he believes in:

Probably one of the greatest Biden moments happened in 2008, when he asked Missouri State Senator Chuck Graham to stand up. Only one problem, Graham is confined to a wheelchair.

God love ’em!
