Rihanna shook the world with her Oprah interview last night. She discussed many fascinating topics and of course, one of those was her relationship with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.
The badass Barbados native decided to let the world into her complex mind, as she explained her feelings concerning the incident that occurred that chaotic night in 2009: the night Chris was thrown into a binding, negative light due to his physical assault.
In this interview, Rihanna laid everything out on the table. She was completely honest about her feelings for Chris. She even admitted:
“It’s awkward because I still love him. My stomach drops and I have to maintain this poker face and not let it get to the outer part of me.”
Now that she has gotten RiRi to open up, it’s time that she sits down with Chris Brown and has a heart-to-heart with him as well.
Rihanna gained so much from this interview: She spoke about finding her self-worth, healing through rebuilding her relationship with her father, and everything she learned from her Gran Gran Dolly before she passed.
Now, inevitably, fans are questioning where Chris Brown stands.
In 2009, Oprah expressed to Tyra Banks on The Tyra Banks Show:
“I think we need to send love to both of them…For him to be healed and for her to be healed also.”
Hopefully, O still feels the same and would like to talk to the R&B superstar. A genuine interview could help the world to finally lighten up on criticizing him so harshly.
Through Rihanna’s sit-down, we know Chris has made an effort to see her privately and is interested in working on their friendship. Still, there are so many things we want to know, and just like Rihanna, Chris could probably grow from expressing his true feelings.
Is he different? Is he still in love with Rihanna? If so, where does this leave Karreuche Tran…? What was that night like for him? If he could, would he take it all back? Or, is that event a significant part of who he is today?
What was it like having the world watch you do something so negative to someone you loved? What was his mom’s initial reaction? What did he learn? What was the worst remark he’s heard about the incident? Where EXACTLY does he stand today?
