Katy Perry said “Thanks but No Thanks!” to American Idol‘s offer to be a judge on their upcoming season alongside Mariah Carey.
Reportedly, American Idol has been after the Fireworks singer for quite some time but she reportedly turned down the one year contract that was worth $20 million.

Sources close to the production tell TMZ … “Idol” pursued Perry relentlessly for weeks, eager to get her to sign on the dotted line. According to our sources, they started the offer at $18 million, but threw even more cash on the table … $20 MILLION for a one year contract!!!
We’re told Katy made it clear … she was NOT interested and money wasn’t the issue.
Sources tell the website that while the pop singers crazy schedule made it impossible to do the show Katy also didn’t think it was the right move to make with her career.
