Welcome back to the work week. We know that Mondays aren’t easy for everyone, but luckily we have a few things you can do today to hopefully make it a bit easier. In today’s installment of Dollars & Sense we are focusing on things that you can do in the Hamptons, NY for no money at all. Check it out below!

Visit The Bridgehampton Whalers – A Farmers Life at Sea Exhibit

This exhibit celebrates local men who went to sea to hunt whales, most of whom came back to farm. Using excerpts from whaling logs, art work by Claus Hoie, furniture once belonging to whaling captains, scrimshaw, and exotic mementos brought back from around the world, the danger, excitement and rewards of hunting the whale is revealed. Curated by Julie Greene, the exhibit will be on display Monday from 10am-2pm today and although it wont cost you anything to get into the exhibit, there is a suggested $5 donation.

Visit The Carol Ross Sculpture At The Watermill Center

The Carol Ross Sculpture is actually not just one sculpture. It is an installation of 20 aluminum and steel sculptures, brilliantly painted and set within the magical garden of ancient stones. A perfect mix of ancient and contemporary sculpture.

Financial Tip Of The Day

Pay Attention To Expiration Dates

This one seems intuitive when you read it, but it’s suprising how many people do not pay attention to expiry dates. No point getting a gallon of milk if it is going to turn sour with a couple of days. Same goes for meat, eggs, yogurt, spreads, frozen items, deli/bakery items etc.
