Between introducing new members from his Grand Hustle Army to dropping new gems, T.I. has been trying to find his niche since coming home from lock up. Leave it to super producer DJ Toomp to come up with some of that vintage bank-head sound that fans of Tip have been longing for. “Trap Back Jumpin” is T.I.’s latest single to hit the streets, and it looks to have some staying power. It’s that trap music that we’ve been missing from ATL’s number one Kang.

I was in the studio the night Joell Ortiz penned his vocal to this new “Tick Tock” track that features Pusha T and Raekwon. I knew this was going to be some hot sh*t. “Tick Tock” is one of the first joints off that new movie soundtrack The Man With The Iron Fist. The film is produced by The RZA and Quentin Tarantino. Rza pulls double executive duties as the soundtrack is produced by him as well. This is definitely for real fans of the that real hip-hop sh*t. If you haven’t peeped the movie trailer you should get your Google on.

Shouts out to the D, that’s my homie from Philly Deneia Freeman and my peoples in Detroit. The artist Danny Brown is just another in a long line of Motor City MC’s who carved his own path on hip-hop’s rugged terrain. Although not as mainstream as fellow Detroit natives Big Sean or Eminem, don’t sleep on Danny Brown’s fanbase or wordplay. Peep this new track he leaked this week called “Change.” It’s a realistic look through the eyes of of an MC coming up in the game and gaining fame. Outside of the wordplay and memorable hook, the beat is on some bass-less lightweight wavy sh*t. Must hear music indeed.

Pharrell’s flow is like a big kid in a candy store. It’s a grown man’s flow that never gets old. VA’s most spacey MC/ producer is also the leader in introducing us to the newest in extraterrestrial MCs. Case in point: Buddy has been on Pharrell’s squad for a minute, but has been quiet as of late. That is until this week. “Far As They Know” might just be a freestyle of an intro track on Buddy’s next mixtape. The track is dope and a taste of what the Compton MC has in store for us. Until we read again…
