Republican Rep. Todd Akin is a loose cannon that sometimes leaves us asking if he’s gone senial.

So it comes to no surprise that he used the recent attacks in Libya and Egypt that killed three US diplomats and the US Ambassador to Libya, Chris Stevens, as an opportunity to lambast President Obama with outlandish accusations.

During a campaign stop in Missouri for his run for Senate, Akin claimed that Obama actually apologized to the Islamic protesters who are responsible for the attacks against US embassies, while also claiming he did so because “he didn’t like America.”

Akin said:

“First of all, apologizing to all people, [to] a lot of countries who are enemies, and apologizing to them and everything. You know, if we did something wrong, that’s one thing. But he’s just apologizing because he didn’t like America? I think that’s the wrong thing to do.”

In August the GOP called for Akin to drop out of the Senate race after he claimed that women who are victims of “legitimate rape” can’t get pregnant. We rarely agree with the GOP, but that’s one thing we seconded!

Another day, another crazy claim.
