Mitt Romney has finally realized that his campaign to become the next POTUS just ain’t working! Rather than focus on the economy during his live speeches, the Romney campaign has shifted its focus on God, patriotism and the right-wing’s contempt for President Obama.

His talk show interviews and campaign ads still target undecided voters and focus on economic issues, but he’s strategically pandering to religious conservatives in order to incite them to come out to the polls in November.

As reported by BuzzFeed:

Three Romney advisers told BuzzFeed the campaign’s top priority now is to rally conservative Republicans, in hopes that they’ll show up on Election Day, and drag their less politically-engaged friends with them. The earliest, ambiguous signal of this turn toward the party’s right was the selection of Rep. Paul Ryan as Romney’s running mate, a top Romney aide said.

“This is going to be a base election, and we need them to come out to vote,” the aide said, explaining the pick.

This strategy shift comes in the midst of Romney’s failing campaign, which began heading down hill after the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte two weeks ago. Since then, polls show that President Obama has taken lead over Romney in key battleground states.
