This morning, the New York Times published an article revealing the madness Mitt Romney, his campaign staff, and the reporters on his campaign trail endured after secretly recorded videos of the Republican candidate speaking candidly at a fundraiser went viral.

Romney was caught on tape calling nearly half of the nation government dependants who feel like they’re “victims” and “entitled” to receive food, health care and housing.
According to the NYT, the emergence of this video sent the Romney campaign into a tizzy, as they tried to prepare a quick and appropriate response before Romney was schedule to appear at a major fundraiser last night.
The article reads:
A decision was made: Mr. Romney must go in front of cameras that night to explain himself, lest questions about the video linger and overshadow two full days of his campaign at a crucial stage in the general election.
But there was little time. It was already 7 p.m. on the East Coast, after the evening newscasts, and Mr. Romney was scheduled to attend a major fund-raiser in Costa Mesa in a few hours.
So aides quickly began arranging an impromptu news conference, giving the journalists who travel with Mr. Romney just a few minutes to race over to the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, an elegant modern glass-and-steel building where he would hold the fundraiser.
Romney then held an impromptu press conference, addressing his embarrassing remarks before taking three questions and heading to another fundraiser.
