A clown at a California rodeo apparently thought making a racist joke about First Lady Michelle Obama would be funny; obviously it wasn’t.

During his performance at the Creston Classic Rodeo in Creston, California on Saturday, Mike Hayhurst made an offensive comment over the public-address system:
“Playboy is offering Ann Romney $250,000 to pose in the magazine, and the White House is upset about it because National Geographic only offered Michelle Obama $50 to pose for them,” he said.
Mike Barrett, one of the rodeo’s board members, said the rodeo does not feel responsible for the joke and will request Hayhurst to issue a public apology. The board is not yet sure whether they will fire the offensive clown; but they will review scripts for future performances by any clowns.
The Kansas City Star newspaper reports that Hayhurst, who was submitted to a hospital on Sunday for head injuries – which may have been due to a previous incident at the rodeo in which a bull tossed Hayhurst into the air – was angry when a reporter reached out to him about the distasteful jest. Hayhurst said:
“I cannot believe how insensitive you are. I am in the hospital.” He then uttered a vulgarity and hung up.
According to his website, Hayhurst was once a city police sergeant and is now a charter school administrator.
Hayhurst really is a clown for his remarks, and this ain’t no laughing matter!
