Chick-fil-A has crossed over to the gay side!

STORY: Zimmerman’s Best Friends Say He Will Lose His Case! (DETAILS)

According to a press release from the LGBT group The Civil Rights Agenda (TCRA), the fast food restaurant will no longer financially support anti-gay organizations through its nonprofit, the WinShape Foundation.

In addition, Chicago Alderman Proco “Joe” Moreno will forgo his effort to stop the chain restaurant from opening a store in Chicago. The press release states:

“The WinShape Foundations [sic] is now taking a much closer look at the organizations it considers helping, and in that process will remain true to its stated philosophy of not supporting organizations with political agendas.”

As you may recall, over the summer, Chick-fil-A was in a storm of controversy when its president Dan Cathy publicly declared that he did not support gay marriage. Cathy’s comments initiated national protests and counter-protests shortly thereafter.

The Raw Story reports that Chick-fil-A executives told their franchisees and stakeholders that the company’s policy is to “treat every person with honor, dignity and respect-regardless of their beliefs, race, creed, sexual orientation and gender,” and the “intent is not to engage in political or social debates.” Those guidelines were included in a document titled “Chick-fil-A: Who We Are.”

We applaud Chick-fil-A for finally admitting the error of their ways; we’re just disappointed it took so damn long for them to do it!
