Ain’t nobody f*cking with Kanye and his clique!

DETAILS: Yeezy Taught Me! Kanye West Breaks Down Cruel Summer

Rappers are sometimes known for embellishing the stories they tell through rhyme, but not Yeezy. On the Cruel Summer banger “Clique,” Kanye West raps about meeting former CIA agent, George Tenet, and apparently his claim is true – partly.

On “Clique,” Kanye raps:

“Yeah, I’m talking business, we talking CIA/I’m talking George Tenet, I seen him the other day/He asked me about my Maybach, think he had the same/Except mine tinted and his might have been rented.”

According to Wired’s Danger Room, Kanye’s claim to have met CIA agent George Tenet definitely has some validity. Wired caught up with George Tenet’s spokesman Bill Harlow, who confirmed there is “some truth.”

Wired reports

“There is some truth to that story,” longtime Tenet spokesman Bill Harlow tells Danger Room. That’s a better track record than most rappers can claim — and, for that matter, most CIA analysts.

Harlow explains that a “few months ago,” Tenet was leaving a business meeting in a New York City building when, unexpectedly, Kanye West entered. “They bumped into each other,” Harlow said, and someone in the various entourages introduced the rapper to the former intelligence chief, who left government service in 2004 after infamously vouching that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction.

“They chatted briefly,” Harlow says. “The next thing you know, it’s recorded history.”

Bill Harlow goes on to state that Kanye’s full bar about George Tenet and Maybachs isn’t completely true.

“There was no discussion of Maybachs,” Harlow says. Tenet doesn’t drive one — rented, leased, owned or otherwise.

Bill Harlow goes on to joke that George Tenet isn’t a big hip-hop fan, but he is a fan of Bruce Springsteen.
