One messege read:

Rest in peace Cade..
We all hope your in a better place.
We all broke down and cried when we heard the gun shot.
I hope people realize now that Bullying is NOT acceptable, and it hurts people in every way. Little words hurt. We know what you experienced. But we all love you, your in our prayers…

Oklahoma police have confirmed that one student is dead after a middle school shooting in Stillwater, OK.

As reported by Tulsaworld News:

The shooting took place just before 8 a.m., Stillwater police Capt. Randy Dickerson said.

Dickerson said a school resource officer found the student in a hallway and called the incident out over police radio.

The student has been identified, but the identity will not be released until the parents have been notified, he said.

Stillwater Junior High Principal Trent Swanson said students were immediately put on lockdown in their classrooms.

Buses were taking students to nearby Cimarron Plaza for parents to pick them up beginning at 9 a.m., he said.

Parents would not be able to pick up their children on campus, he said.

Staff will remain at Cimarron Plaza until all students are picked up. The junior high school has been closed, but other Stillwater schools will remain open.

All Stillwater schools, except the Junior High, will have a regular school day.

Stillwater is about 70 miles northeast of Oklahoma City.
