In a recent interview with MTV News, hip-hop all-star Jay-Z explained that he stands behind President Obama, and his “vision” for America, but he also explains why we shouldn’t expect to see Jay get any closer to politics as a whole.
“I support Barack because I gotta respect that sort of vision…the first black President ever to have that sort of vision and that dream, I have to support that.”

Earlier this month, Hov and Beyonce, both longtime Obama supporters, hosted an Obama fundraiser at Jay’s 40/40 club in New York. Tickets went for $40,000 a pop and the President is said to have raised $4 million that night in funds toward his campaign.
Even though Jay supports Barack’s cause, he makes it clear he’s not a fan of politics. A bit of an unusual thing to say when you’re in such a position of influence to the young people during an election year.
